A Woodville North man has faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court after allegedly breaking into a Gepps Cross premises in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police allege that at about 1am on Monday March 15 the owner of a recycling metal yard at Gepps Cross was alerted to a man on the site.
Patrols attended and police allegedly saw the accused, Phillip James Apps, run from the premises, with a chase taking place before he was arrested a short distance away.
Patrols checked the location and found an amount of scrap recycling that had allegedly been removed and placed outside ready for collection by Apps.
Apps was charged with serious criminal trespass and two counts of breach of bail and he was refused police bail.
In court on Monday, a police prosecutor said the breaches of bail charges related to Apps testing positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine and for removing an electronic monitoring device.
A defence lawyer for Apps said he did not apply for bail, but guilty pleas were intimated to the breach of bail charges.
The matter will next be heard in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in April.
