A new $37 million Helping Hand aged care centre in Golden Grove for up to 110 people will open in less than a month.
However, it is unclear when the construction of two other multimillion-dollar aged care facilities slated for the northeast will begin.
Originally promised to be open by January this year, Helping Hand Golden Grove will be up and running from May 20.
Helping Hand’s chief executive officer Chris Stewart said the Golden Way centre would employ about 150 people in ongoing roles.
“These employees will range from caring and nursing roles, to on-site chefs, lifestyle, allied health and administration and management staff,” Mr Stewart said.
“More than 90 per cent of our workforce lives in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.”
It will provide permanent placement, respite, short-term stays and services for residents transitioning from hospital.
“We know there’s a growing demand for ageing services in the northeast community,” he said.
“People are very keen to stay close to family and continue to live in the area they love. We can’t wait for our first residents to move in.”
The development also includes community space, a cafe, hairdresser, library and a gym.
Meanwhile, aged care provider Life Care cannot say when a $60 million, four-storey village in Golden Grove with 74 independent living units, 24 serviced apartments and an 80-bed residential aged care centre will be built.
A Life Care spokesman said he hoped to provide an update next week on the project, set for the corner of Surrey Farm Drive and The Golden Way.
It lodged plans with Tea Tree Gully Council in mid-2016.
ECH is also planning to build a $40 million 9700sq m, multistorey facility at Smart Rd, Modbury, replacing a commercial car park.
“We expect to be able to be in touch with you at some point next week,” an ECH spokesman said on Wednesday.
An application was lodged with the council on March 13.
