It’s the phallic street design that’s got locals laughing but a South Australian council says there’s no hard facts behind the risque claim.
Northern suburbs man Gary Parsons says he came across the scandalous street layout while working as a land surveyor in Angle Vale.
“Not many people can say the live on a street shaped like a c***,” Mr Parsons said.
Mr Parsons shared the image to an Angle Vale community group on Facebook, attracting over 200 responses from community members who instantly saw the humour in the design.
In an anti-climactic turn of events, a spokesman for the City of Playford said the council was unaware of any proposed street design that resembled the image.
Plans seen by the Messenger show no streets proposed for the Angle Vale area in the phallic shape Mr Parsons claimed to have uncovered.
Community members were quickly inspired to share their best puns.
“I heard the blocks at the tip are prone to watermain leaks,” Matt King said.
“The developer has already pulled out early, preventing a disaster that’ll blow the budget for the next 18 years,” Randall Hickey said.
Mr Parson could not reveal where the proposed street would be built only alluding to the fact the housing development would be somewhere beside Virgara Wines.
However a spokeswoman for that nearby development said there was no such street being planned.
A spokesman for Virgara Wines said they were not aware of any phallic shaped neighbourhoods being constructed down the road.
Mr Parsons stiffly opposed the notion the picture was illegitimate and said the street name would not be released until the development was completed.
“Council like to keep the street names private until it has be fully constructed,” he said.
“More plans will be released soon as I‘ll be doing soil tests on the piece of land within the next two weeks.”
The bizarre street design also appeared on a Reddit internet forum the day after Mr Parsons shared the image to the Angle Vale community group, casting further doubts as to its legitimacy.
“The developer said the estate was far bigger than it actually was and everyone was left unsatisfied,” Adam Todd said.
“Heard the neighbours are assholes,” Zowie Woody said.
Angle Vale is experiencing massive population growth, with one local councillor recently calling on the state government to release grant funding for infrastructure before housing developments are completed, rather than after.
