A motorhome has been destroyed after food was left cooking on a stove at St Kilda.
Multiple CFS and MFS crews were called to the scene after the motorhome erupted into a fireball on St Kilda Road about 9.40pm on Thursday.
They found the motorhome well alight, and it was not able to be saved, with about $100,000 damage caused.
The occupants were not inside at the time and managed to avoid injury.
About 14 CFS crew on two trucks and one bulk water carrier, with the support of eight MFS crew on two additional trucks, extinguished the fire.
Crews were supported by SA Police and paramedics.
Fire crews managed to saved a nearby motorhome trailer, worth about $80,000.00, which sustained only minor damage.
CFS said cause of the fire was thought to be to inattentive cooking inside the motorhome.
“This incident is a timely reminder that cooking is a task which requires full attention, and any distraction may lead to a fire that potentially threatens lives and destroys property,” CFS said.
SAPOL said the fire was not suspicious and it was not investigating.
