Hundreds of homes will be added to a residential development at Angle Vale near the site of a new super school.

Property company Lanser has announced it will spend $120 million extending its Miravale development with 321 extra allotments.

The extension — approved by Playford Council — follows the State Government announcing the site of a new “birth to Year 12 super school” on land it is compulsorily acquiring on the town’s eastern perimeter.

Lanser managing director Jason Green said the extra allotments would take the company’s total investment in Angle Vale to $308 million.

“With the new Northern Connector project nearing completion, demand for land in the region has increased as young homebuyers look for a more affordable lifestyle destination for their growing families,” he said.

“We are really excited about the future of Angle Vale and with so much investment in infrastructure and education on the table it remains a solid proposition for homebuyers.”

Miravale is one of several large developments well-advanced at Angle Vale, which, along with nearby Munno Para, is the state’s fastest growing area.

Hundreds more allotments already have been approved for other estates, such as Burgundy Estate on Fradd Rd, while one company, Palumbo, has gone to the Environment and Resources Development Court seeking approval for a new 400-allotment estate.

The rapid growth of Angle Vale has put its infrastructure under considerable strain, particularly its stormwater drainage.

It has no main sewerage system, with properties reliant on individual septic tanks while residents repeatedly have been calling for the installation of footpaths, roundabouts and street lighting on busy roads.

Angle Vale is located within 2km of the Northern Expressway which, when joined to the Northern Connector at Virginia, will provide motorists with a direct link between Gawler and Adelaide.
