A man will face trial accused of sexually assaulting a teenager 26 times in two weeks – despite having a penis that “doesn’t work”, a court has heard.
Mark Stephen Allen, 38, pleaded not guilty to all charges in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, denying he supplied the child with drugs and sexually abused her in secret hotel meet-ups.
Mr Allen, a Craigmore father-of-one, was charged with almost 40 offences – including unlawful sexual intercourse and supplying a controlled drug to a child – following his arrest.
Prosecutors alleged he met 15-year-old girl via a thread on the encrypted Telegram app called “Illicit Adelaide” before asking for her Snapchat.
It is alleged by prosecutors Mr Allen then sold drugs to the girl on multiple occasions and assaulted her 26 times in hotel rooms.
He denied the offending in court, accusing the “disturbed” girl of making “entirely untrue” allegations.
During Mr Allen’s successful home detention bail bid last year, Stacey Carter, for Mr Allen, said her client’s penis “does not work” due to an operation three years ago.
“That makes some of the allegations in the girl’s statement simply impossible,” she said.
She said the prosecution case was based on a series of self-made videos recordings in which the girl discussed Mr Allen in “quite vulgar language”.
April Zimmermann, prosecuting, said the state of Mr Allen’s penis provided no alibi, given the alleged offending involved oral sex.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Brian Nitschke adjourned Mr Allen’s charges to the District Court for arraignment in May.
