A dealer found “in a state of undress” has accepted responsibility for drugs and a gun found during a police raid.
Fitzroy man Leonard Robert Richard “Richi” Wilkins, 37, faced sentencing submissions in the District Court on Tuesday, awaiting his fate from custody.
OnlyFans star and Wilkins’ co-accused, Alice Mabel Weekes, 27, pleaded not guilty to the same charges and will face trial next year.
The court previously heard Ms Weekes and Mr Wilkins were in a relationship and when they were arrested in May last year, Mr Wilkins was “in a state of undress” in Ms Weekes’ bathroom.
A prosecutor asked the court to draw an inference that the firearm was used as part of Wilkins’ drug trafficking activities.
The court heard the drugs and gun were found in proximity in the loungeroom, as well as Wilkins’ DNA being on the trigger.
“The fact that there was in total 12.58g of drugs. There’s $4500 in cash as well,” the prosecutor said.
Timothy Clarke, for Wilkins, denied there was a connection between the two.
Wilkins pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and possessing a firearm without a licence.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The serious charges of false imprisonment, theft, arson and discharging a firearm to injure, annoy or frighten a person against Ms Weekes were dropped after the alleged victim, 31-year-old Corey James McGhee, refused to cooperate with police and supply a statement.
Police initially alleged Mr McGhee had been tied up, bundled into the boot of a car, driven out to remote Port Gawler, shot in the back and had his car set on fire.
They arrested Ms Weekes and Mr Wilkins over the alleged abduction, with both spending time in custody.
Shortly after Ms Weekes was arrested The Advertiser revealed she was making as much as $12,000 per month posting explicit videos and photos on OnlyFans.
Wilkins’ charges were adjourned until next month, while Ms Weekes, of Mawson Lakes, will face court on Wednesday.
