The multimillion-dollar facelift of a northern suburbs shopping centre has continued as new national retailers, restaurants and amenities open.

On Friday, one of the first new-look Cotton On stores opened inside Hollywood Plaza – located near the Premium Care Medical Practice and Best & Less.

The centre began its $20m renovations in 2023 following the acquisition of the centre by property management group LAS Group in 2021 for roughly $85m.

The new Cotton On store is the most recent of five new store openings in the past 12 months, which include MyCar, Onaki Sushi Train, The Optical Superstore and Bahkmi Lim Noodle Project in its first location north of the city.

LAS Group Managing Director Les Smith said the Hollywood Plaza project marked another key milestone for the business – allowing them to set ambitious and achievable sustainability targets.

“The Salisbury Downs community can expect the refresh of Hollywood Plaza to preserve the centre’s connection to the local area, while adding more contemporary touches and technical upgrades for a smoother and more enjoyable customer experience,” Mr Smith said.

“We know that sustainability is a major consideration when it comes to development, particularly in South Australia – this underpins our decision to make Hollywood Plaza a carbon neutral centre in 2023.

“We’ve gone above and beyond the typical level of investment you’d see in a local retail centre, which demonstrates our commitment to this community, as well as our long-term goal of a more sustainable portfolio.”

Mr Smith said the introduction of Cotton On to Hollywood was a “key win for the centre and our loyal customers” and the team were committed to delivering new and exciting retailers.

As part of the centres redevelopment, more than 4000 solar panels were installed that will generate approximately 2.4 million MWH of electricity.

Amenities around the centre were also re developed including a new playground near the popular Jive Cafe, a new food court layout completed with updated furnishings and a large ceiling feature and upgrades to the centre bathrooms and parent rooms.

Some elements, including the new exterior branding and signage, a full external repaint, upgrade of the airconditioning systems and two main entrances are yet to be completed.
