George Parker Manousakis jailed for five years for sex attack on sleeping 13yo girl

An Adelaide man has been jailed after he got a 13-year-old girl drunk and abused her as she was passed out – but still refuses to accept the jury’s verdict.

A man from an inner northwest Adelaide suburb has been sentenced to five years imprisonment after he had sex with a 13-year-old girl he’d supplied with alcohol and drugs.

George Peter Manousakis appeared in the District Court on Tuesday where he was sentenced for the offence which occurred almost three years ago.

Manousakis, 29, was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 14 years over the 2021 incident.

Judge Anthony Allen said the victim arrived at Manousakis’ home with a friend and they all consumed alcohol and cannabis throughout the evening.

“You took advantage of a vulnerable grossly intoxicated 13-year-old girl, the forceful nature of the intercourse described by your victim … makes this a particularly egregious species of this offending,” he said.

“In a prescribed interview played in your trial, your victim gave details of a conversation took place where the topic of her age came up, her evidence was she told you she was 13 that you were surprised by this thinking she was 16 or 17.

“Aspects of this conversation were corroborated by another witness who gave evidence at trial.”

Judge Allen said Manousakis, of Dudley Park, supplied the victim with alcohol throughout the evening and encouraged her to drink it.

“The victim became grossly affected by the liquor, she vomited and effectively passed out on the couch in the lounge room,” he said.

The young victim woke to the man forcing her to perform a sexual act on him.

Judge Allen said later that night after everyone had gone to bed, the victim woke to Manousakis forcing her to perform a sex act.

He said count two relates to another sexual act.

“Approximately five weeks later a report was made and an investigation got underway,” he said.

“The victim speaks (in victim impact statements) about how your offending has ruined her and that she has been angry at the world ever since,” he said.

Judge Allen said he took Manousakis’ personal circumstances and history into account when sentencing him.

“Your parents separated when you were young and then the deterioration of that relationship led to a tumultuous life,” he said.

“You were bullied at school and you performed poorly.”

Judge Allen said Manousakis hasn’t accepted the jury’s finding and continues to deny his guilt over the charges.

Manousakis was sentenced to five years imprisonment with a non-parole period of three years.

The sentence was backdated to the start of Manousakis’ imprisonment in July last year.
