Allegations that a Costco worker raped a woman at an Elizabeth dog park have been dropped by SA Police.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday, prosecutors tendered no evidence and discontinued their case against Ronny Hughes.

Mr Hughes, of Elizabeth South, had yet to plead to two counts of engaging in sexual intercourse without consent.

Previously, police had alleged he preyed on a young woman at Elizabeth City Centre and raped her at nearby Jo Gapper Dog Park in January.

They further alleged he had been captured on CCTV circling the complainant in the car park as she got into her vehicle.

However, the court subsequently heard the complainant did not maintain contact with police and missed appointments to provide further disclosure.

On Thursday, the court released Mr Hughes from his bail agreement and told him he was free to go.
