A young mother accused of a violent abduction at Mawson Lakes has been released on the strictest form of bail, with a warning not to consume drugs.

Alice Mabel Weekes, 26, was granted home detention bail in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after having six weeks in custody to “sober up”.

Her co-accused Leonard Robert Richard Wilkins, 36, is also charged with kidnapping and shooting of 31-year-old man, Corey James McGhee.

Andrew Ey, for Ms Weekes, told the court the only problem with the home detention report was her being candid about her drug use.

“She’s had six weeks to sober up and if every person with a drug problem didn’t get home detention then quite frankly no one would be on home detention,” he said.

Mr Ey said Ms Weekes was aware that home detention bail involves drug testing and would be residing at her mother’s Modbury North house.

Police allege Mr McGhee, 31 from Mawson Lakes, headed to a Mawson Lakes home before being shot in the back, tied up, thrown into his Toyota, driven 30km away and dumped on a remote Port Gawler road.

Police say a passer-by took Mr McGhee to the Lyell McEwin Hospital and alerted police.

He suffered a number of injuries, but they were not considered life threatening.

Police searched a Mawson Lakes home on May 29 as part of an investigation into the incident and seized several items, including a gun.

Mr Wilkins, of Fitzroy, and Ms Weekes, of Mawson Lakes, are facing multiple charges, including false imprisonment, theft and causing serious harm with intent.

The duo, who are yet to enter any pleas, are also charged with drug trafficking.

The charges follow the revelation that Ms Weekes’ social media links to the OnlyFans account named Poppy Days, which has about 694 subscribers.

The account has posted 324 photos and 126 videos, has 10,462 likes and makes between $3000 and $12,000 each month.

In the Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal released Ms Weekes on home detention bail and gave her a warning not to leave the address without permission and not to consume drugs or alcohol.

Ms Weekes was also ordered not to speak to her co-accused or the alleged victim.

“If you do, you’ll be back in jail,” Judge Hribal said.

The charges were adjourned until December.
