Shocking messages sent from a child groomer to a 14-year-old girl in his “manipulative” attempts to groom her have been read to the court.
Adam Lee Jesson, 41, was under the influence of drugs when he made sickening attempts to convince a child to stay over.
The District Court on Thursday heard Jesson sent the 14-year-old victim several messages between October and December 2020 pleading to spend time with her.
During sentencing, Judge Anthony Allen described the messages as “manipulative jealously” with Jesson expressing resentment towards the victim’s boyfriend.
The court heard Jesson sent the victim a series of messages on November 14, 2020 including one saying “don’t worry about birth control pills, by the time I’m done no-one’s gonna touch you”.
He also said: “you shouldn’t have let me play with it if you weren’t gonna let me hit it because now til I do I can’t stop thinking about it”.
Jesson then told the victim he needed to have it once and knew he had a “huge slug”.
“It’s not like I wanna have kids or marry you, strictly one night stand,” his follow up message said.
When Jesson was arrested he denied sending the messages and falsely claimed it was his neighbour.
Despite being given a bail condition not to contact the victim, the child was found hiding in the laundry at Jesson’s house on one occasion.
Jesson, of Salisbury Downs, pleaded guilty to communicating with the intention of making a child amenable to sexual activity.
The court previously heard children’s toys and young girls’ clothing were found at Jesson’s home.
The court heard Jesson had spent approximately half his life in jail and fell into drug addiction from an early age.
Judge Allen said children needed to be protected from predatory advances of adults.
He sentenced Jesson to one year jail, with a non-parole period of ten months.
The sentence was backdated to August 9.
