Thousands of Krispy Kreme doughnuts up for grabs as an Australian first is unveiled in Mount Gambier

In an national first, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be baked in Mount Gambier. Take a look at the new store and find out how you can score a free doughnuts.

Freshly baked Krispy Kreme doughnuts will soon be on the menu in Mount Gambier.

The South East city will be the home to the iconic company’s first regional Hot Light factory store in Australia when it opens as apart of the new Mount Gambier East OTR complex on Saturday, December 19.

The Hot Light factories allow customers to pick up freshly made doughnuts straight from the production line.

Krispy Kreme SA general manager Mark Higgenbottom was excited to turn on the lights and said thousands of doughnuts would be given away at the grand opening from 10am.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Krispy Kreme to Mount Gambier and the South East,” Mr Higgenbottom said.

“The world-famous Hot Light gives our visitors a unique melt-in-your-mouth experience where they enjoy hot, fresh, Original Glazed doughnuts as they roll off the line, every day.”

In a SA first, customers will also be able to order fresh doughnuts for delivery via Menulog and the Krispy Kreme website.

The four-month construction of the new store began in August and 21 locals have been employed to run the store across retail, customer service and manufacturing – making the hot, fresh, Original Glazed and other famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts including store manager Rachel Szabo.

The store is located at 1 Ramsay Ave, Mount Gambier.
