A Mount Gambier man who spent more than a month on the run has been captured in Bordertown after police renewed their appeal to the public.

Bradley James Millowick, 22, was wanted in connection with a serious assault at Mount Gambier on July 25.

Following two public appeals from police and several from his mother on Facebook he was arrested without incident in Bordertown on Friday.

Millowick’s mother made an online appeal to her son to ‘man up and come home’ as police hunted him.

“Son, time to man and dad up.. we’ve the proof n witnesses to Bak you, time to fight these lieing dog cops (sic),” Ms Millowick said.

“All Dan’s hard effort to keep U away from that world and look how U repay ur bro, he was proud of where u was going in life, Dan would be sooo pissed off if he still here (sic).”

Daniel Millowick, Bradley’s brother, tragically died in a horror smash just days before Christmas last year.

In her post Ms Millowick said they can “fight the lies”.

“My son has been sold to y‘all as a monster — you stood up for ya morals n family (sic),” she said.

Millowick recently fronted court for two back-to-back assaults, narrowly avoiding jail, and shared his own wanted poster to social media shortly after police made their first public appeal for his arrest.

Though he had a suspended prison sentence hanging over his head at the time, Magistrate Koula Kossiavelos felt imprisonment “might not be in the interest of justice”.

Ms Millowick blasted the police, defending her son’s actions in July shortly after the alleged assault.

“It’s on like Donkey Kong coppers.. wanna be dishonest, stand over ppl an make s*** up to help your job n ruining ppls futures (sic),” she said.

Millowick will be charged with assault and refuse police bail and is expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday.
