Research shows nuts help with weight loss

After years of being unhappy with his own body, an Adelaide man has lost almost 30 kilograms in just over 12 months.

Joel McCrindle, 37, was not alone feeling unsatisfied with his body with data showing that 76 per cent of Adelaide’s residents are unhappy with their weight.

Mr McCrindle, a devoted father of three and financial consultant, decided it was time to lose weight in March last year after his wife fell unwell and Shane Warne died.

“He was the ultimate invincible party boy and I thought he would be around forever,” he said.

“The night I heard he died, I had a moment where my mortality became very real.

“I seriously realised that if I didn’t make some significant life changes, I would not be around long term for my family.”

Soon after, Mr McCrindle decided to change his lifestyle and booked himself into the doctor and signed up for a weight loss shake.

“I also made a plan with my doctor to drop 10 kilograms by walking every day for 30 minutes,” he said.

The data, released by The Man and Lady Shake, shows 48 per cent of city residents believe they’re overweight and 13 per cent feel unhealthy.

The loving father said he has been left feeling motivated to stay hit and healthy for his kids.

“Especially as all three of my children are super active, there is nothing better than playing basketball with my boys at the park or going for a run with my daughter,” he said.

“I feel the healthiest I’ve ever been … my mental health has improved and I feel sharper mentally.”
