A male stripping company is looking for their next mover and shaker, with $15,000 worth of training on offer – and you don’t have to be a gym junkie.

The group have put the call out for any budding dancer whether athletic or rocking a ‘dad bod’, as they aim to please their clientele according to manager Daniel McDonald.

“We’re not looking for all the same stereotype of strippers they don’t have to be a gym junkie, its about a lot more than that, and we aim to please whatever our clientele tell us they want,” he said.

Alpha Men’s aim is to put on a classy, entertaining show while creating a safe environment for people and doing away with the seedy and sleazy stigma people have when they think about male strippers.

McDonald said the raft of training, workshops and opportunities on offer are unheard of.

“The way it works is that whoever we select gets a contract with us in which they make a minimum of $5,000-$15,000 a year, we set them up with training and mentoring,” he said.

“One of our guys was the number one male stripper of 2019 and he can bestow a lot of knowledge.”

However applicants must undergo a rigorous selection process over a four week period.

“We put them through social media challenges, choreography challenges, and even a fundraising challenge where we raise money for Beyond Blue, last year we raised $7500,” McDonald said.

“It’s not just about taking your clothes off on a weekend, it‘s a select set of skills and this is about developing good talent in Adelaide.”

“A lot of it is seeing how confident it is they can be in a situation, we see how they adapt but we give them all the tools for the job.”

McDonald said dancers can stand to earn thousands of dollars a week through shows in clubs, private call outs and tours, but that there simply aren’t enough strippers in Adelaide.

“Somewhere like the Gold Coast has 30 strippers, but in Adelaide there are only 10, we aim to recruit up to three more.”
