Ah, the pitter-patter of little feet, one of life’s most precious gifts.
Often referred to as the miracle of life, childbirth is a completely unique experience for everyone.
Anatomy, health, conception, environment, preferences and some even consider moon cycles to play a role in bringing new life into the world.
But, without the support and advice from medical and birthing professionals in our hour (or 40) of need, the process could certainly have it challenges.
So we asked you to nominate your favourite midwife or doula and have narrowed it down to South Australia’s top 20.
Now it’s over to you to place your final vote from the list below so we can crown Adelaide’s best – voting closes Wednesday, October 27.

Here are some of the comments worth highlighting left by readers on our Facebook call out:
Delice Sauerwald – Flinders Medical Centre
We were lucky to have Delice support for 2/3 of our babies! Delice was an angel to us for our second birth … fantastic poker face and calming way about her! Her knowledge and experience went a long way that day to ensuring our son got the care he needed! Her friendly face continued to pop into our room, even when we weren’t assigned to her for that shift! For our last baby Delice went that extra mile for us, even just a hug from her made things so much better! Thank you Delice. -Amy Medlen
Jodi Cavin – Lyell McEwin Hospital
Jodi Cavin at LMH, anyone who has had the privilege of having her as their midwife is truly very lucky.
-Natalee Wilkinson
Roxanne Clisby – Gawler Health Service
Roxanne Clisby from Gawler Health Service. She has been there for all 5 of my kids and I’d never have it any other way. Most caring lovely midwife I could ever asked for. -Rebecca Kirvan
Laura Paterson – Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Laura Paterson from WCH. She is the reason my beautiful miracle baby girl is with me today! I was blessed with the best baby catcher for sure. So kind and caring. Felt very supported pre-during-post birth. My whole family adore her. -Inese Meiers
