A road weather alert has been issued for reduced visibility due to fog in Adelaide, mainly in the hills, beaches and northern suburbs.

SA Police advises people to slow down and take extra care, turn on your headlights and leave a safe distance between you and the car ahead of you when driving.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the fog should clear by 10.30am and that Adelaide can expect a top of 16 today.
