A FAST food giant wants to be able to sell its fried chicken and chips 24-hours a day in Adelaide’s east.
The Marden KFC will become the fast food chain’s first 24/7 restaurant in the east next month, if an application to extend its opening hours is given the go-ahead.
KFC Australia applied to Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Development Assessment Panel to extend the Payneham Rd fast food restaurant operating hours to 24 hours a day.
The restaurant, which was opened in 2011, is open Sunday to Thursday until 10pm and Friday and Saturday until midnight.
A KFC national spokesman said the move to extend its hours was to meet customer demand and would provide more hours for its 53 staff.
A decision on whether the restaurant can extend its opening hours will be made by NPSP Development Assessment Panel in September.
Feedback on the plans is only open to residents and business owners who neighbour the restaurant.
A search by East Torrens Messenger shows most metropolitan stores are open from 10am to 10pm, although the Hindley St store is open until midnight.
