A $15 MILLION revamp of Marden Shopping Centre will be complete within the next two months.
The overhaul — including a new Woolworths, new specialty shops and 39 extra carparks — is the Lower Portrush Rd centre’s first major upgrade in about a decade.
Work started in July last year.
Property manager Louise Evens said four new, as-yet-unnamed speciality retailers would move into the revamped centre.
“
We are just finishing off the new shops and a number of the existing tenants have done refurbishments,” Ms Evens said.
“It’s very exciting and all happening at the moment.”
Faircut Meats co-owner Amanda Cooper hoped the upgrade would bring a younger generation of shoppers to the centre.
“It’s taken too long to finish, so we are very excited about the whole upgrade being complete,” Ms Cooper said.
“It hasn’t been renovated since the ’80s, so this is great for the area.”
