Heyson Hinge of Thrive Physio Plus, Highgate, crowned SA's best physio

From sporting injuries to finding a new lease on life, SA’s best physio reveals what it is about his job that makes him tick. Plus, see the top five.

From helping young athletes return to form to ensuring his older clients are still living a happy and healthy lifestyle, Heyson Hinge said there is no career more rewarding.

“I get to help people become pain-free and do things that they never thought they would be able to do,” Mr Hinge said.

“At Thrive we do gym sessions and being able to watch the client, whether they are dead-lifting 110 kilos or teaching a kid how to use the gym, is so rewarding.

It’s not hard to understand why Mr Hinge was nominated by his clients and voted best in the state by the public in our latest poll.

As a budding sports star back in his early years, Mr Hinge knew his career was not destined behind a desk.

With expertise in neck and back pain, child and adolescent injuries as well as sports and running related injuries, it’s clear Mr Hinge is a jack-of-all-trades.

“I knew I always wanted to help people,” he said.

“I was lucky enough to do a bit of sports works, which I still do before landing here at Thrive.

While the new bragging rights are all his, Mr Hinge was very humble in thanking Thrive Physio Plus and all his colleagues and his clients.

“I would say we are the best practice in Adelaide, I am lucky enough to work with some of the best colleagues and the best clients,” he said.

“I think I forget how much value I add to people's lives because they are able to get back to things they love and things they never thought they would be able to do.

“I’ve seen people who have been stuck at home these last two or three years now want to go out and be active so it’s about helping them adapt and that’s been so rewarding.”
