Former Burnside councillor Lance Bagster will face court next month after allegedly breaching intervention orders more than 50 times.

Mr Bagster, who resigned from the council in August last year, will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court for a two-day trial starting on October 14.

The Messenger understands the intervention orders were sought by three Burnside council staff members, three elected members and a subcontractor.

Under the rulings, Mr Bagster was banned from from going within 50m of the council’s chambers at Tusmore, including to attend meetings.

He was also barred from contacting or publishing information about the seven people who sought the orders, including going within 50m of their homes and workplaces.

Court documents sighted by The Messenger show that police will allege Mr Bagster breached the orders 14 times in Tusmore on December 30, 2017.

In total, between October 31, 2017, and January 16, 2018, he allegedly breached orders 23 times in Adelaide, 22 times in Tusmore, four times in Kensington and twice in Burnside.

A statement on the council’s website dated September 2017 said the application for intervention orders was made following alleged “ongoing intimidating and threatening behaviours” by Mr Bagster.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court approved the intervention orders that month.

Mr Bagster was arrested at his Wattle Park home on January 16, 2018.
