The schools with the fastest-growing enrolment numbers in Adelaide’s east have been revealed in new figures that also show which schools are dropping.
Annesley Junior School in Wayville is the state’s fastest growing school overall and in the eastern suburbs, swelling from 99 students in 2018 to 266 students last year – a jump of 169 per cent.
Meanwhile, Concordia College’s St Peters Blackwood campus is at the other end, dropping from 169 to 86 in 2022, a drop of 46 per cent.
A spokesperson for Concordia said St Peters Blackwood - an ELC to year 6 - was a Lutheran schoole suffering declining numbers when it merged with Concordia at the start of 2023.
“We have already increased enrolment numbers at our new Blackwood campus,” the spokesperson said.
“Now as one school ELC to year 12, St Peters are guaranteed entry to the Concordia Middle and Senior campus at Highgate when entering year 7.
“We hope to continue enrolment growth significantly in the next few years.”
St Bernadette’s School at St Marys has risen by 63 per cent to 143 enrolments, while Mitcham Girls High School is the top government school in the eastern suburbs for student enrolment rises, recording an increase of 44 per cent since 2018.
The analysis is based on enrolment data published on the MySchool website, which provides the most up to date enrolment figures available across all public and private schools.
The government schools that recorded the highest drop in enrolment between 2018 and 2022 were Clovelly Park Primary School (36 per cent) and Crafers Primary School (30 per cent).
Other Adelaide Hills schools are captured in the regional list, which can be seen here.
Mount Barker high and primary schools both recorded high enrolment growth.
