Everard Park man Derek Thomas will face trial after pleading not guilty to two child sex charges – one of them allegedly involving a child under the age of 14.

An Everard Park man will face trial on two charges of having sex with a child.
Derek Thomas, 51, pleaded not guilty to one count of persistent sexual exploitation of a child and one count of having sexual intercourse with person under the age of 14 in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police allege he maintained an unlawful sexual relationship with someone under the age of 17 between July 1, 2015, and Jan 31, 2016, at Ashford and other places.
He is also charged with having sex with someone under the age of 14, between September 1 and 12, 2015.
Thomas’s trial will begin in the District Court on October 16.
