Independent MP Frank Pangallo unleashes Police Association bombshells in parliament
In a blistering speech to parliament, MP Frank Pangallo has read allegations from former PASA staff members of a “tirade of abuse” levelled against former employees “silenced” by the union.
Independent MP Frank Pangallo has unleashed a blistering speech in the Legislative Council, lashing the Police Association for “silencing” its members and going to “extraordinary lengths” to suppress complaints.
The speech is the latest in an escalating dispute between Mr Pangallo and the union, which broke out when Mr Pangallo used parliamentary privilege to reveal allegations of indecent assault against its now-president, Wade Burns.
In response, union deputy president Daryl Mundy launched an attack on Mr Pangallo, who he described as an “anti-cop activist” who is “effectively running a campaign to obliterate the PCDA (Police Complaints and Discipline Act)”.
The act stipulates that complaints against police officers cannot be reported and had prevented the allegations against Mr Burns from being made public.
