Nearly identical three-storey townhouses proposed for Gilbert St, Adelaide
The city’s development boom continues, with offices set to be knocked down and replaced with a row of 24 near-identical townhouses.

A city office building “not worthy of preservation” would be knocked down to make way for a row of townhouses, under a plan lodged with the State Government.
Dellta Projects, based in Pirie St, has applied to the State Commission Assessment Panel to build 24 three-bedroom properties at 245-259 Gilbert St.
Each townhouse would be up to 12.56m high and range in size from 185sq m to 195sq m.
The cost of the development is not listed in the application.
The site currently houses three adjoining office tenancies.
The application said the townhouse development was sympathetic to the surrounding streetscape.
“The proposed dwellings are a prime example of carefully executed and contemporary infill development that respects the key elements of its contextual setting,” it said.
“We wish to highlight that … the existing structures on the site are not worthy of preservation.”
There will be a total of 30 car parking spaces.

Consultation closes on Tuesday, March 2.
It comes as a similar application was lodged to build 17 townhouses behind right behind Grange Golf Course on a prominent 2471sq m block on Trimmer Parade.
Under a plan before Charles Sturt Council, it would be divided into 17 allotments under a community title, with a large block of terraced houses.
