A not-for-profit organisation that helps breathe new life into empty office space has started an online support group to help traders grappling with the economic impact of coronavirus.
Renew Adelaide this week launched Covidlyf to help business owners come up with innovative ways to trade through the pandemic.
It also includes information about leases, negotiating rental agreements and simplified information about how state and federal government announcements impact business.
Communications manager Biela McMillan said the network would help traders find “possibilities” and give them direction during a crisis.
“There are going to be changes in this environment but it does not mean opportunity does not exist,” Ms McMillan said.
She said the group would also highlight examples of traders who had successfully adapted their business model to cope with the impacts of COVID-19.
“For example, (eyewear store) Coombs+Co on Rundle St have decided to open via appointment only, and they have found this successful,” Ms McMillan said.

“They can manage hygiene practices, correct social distancing and anyone interested in coming in is actually serious about actually conducting business with them.”
The Renew Adelaide initiative comes as Messenger Community News and The Advertiser launched an interactive guide of businesses that remain open in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
Traders can submit information about their business and how they have adapted for inclusion here.
