An interstate restaurant franchise with more than 20 stores nationwide will open on one of North Adelaide’s most prominent corners, creating about 30 new jobs for the area.
Lonestar Rib House and Brews – an American restaurant – will open at the old Scuzzi restaurant site at the corner of O’Connell and Tynte streets.
It comes as South Australia added a massive 13,500 jobs in the past month, but recorded the highest unemployment rate in the nation.
Lonestar Rib House and Brews general manager Gary Blyton said the chain’s opening, expected by the end of the month, would boost the local economy.
“O’Connell St is a well-known dining precinct, so we did our research and it was a fairly obvious choice for us,” Mr Blyton said.
“It’s quite a destinational place and … people come far and wide to dine there.”
Lonestar Rib House and Brews will have all-you-can-eat slow-cooked ribs, wings, steaks, burgers, an extensive offering of craft beers, tap wines, moonshine and free peanuts at the door.
It will also open at Port Adelaide Plaza in November, creating at least another 25 jobs.
There is no connection between the failed Lone Star Rib House in Glenelg, which opened in the former McDonald’s site in Moseley Square in 2015.
