A southern suburbs man has been arrested for an alleged murder following a stabbing in the Adelaide CBD last night.
Police were called to an accommodation complex on Hindley Street after reports a person had been stabbed just before 8pm on Friday, November 8.
When officers arrived, a 23-year-old man with life threatening injuries was located who witnesses said was “not responding”.
The man died a short time after being rushed to hospital.
The suspect had left the scene prior to police arrival but was arrested a short time later near the River Torrens.
A 42-year-old man from St Marys was charged with murder and refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
The incident is not considered random, and the two men are known to each other.
Eastern District and Major Crime Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
