Does going to the movies float your boat? Then Adelaide’s newest cinema could be just the ticket.
The Floating Cinema – a waterside screen watched by moviegoers in mini-boats – is coming to Adelaide this November. But the location remains under wraps.
It sees movie seats replaced with 12 to 24 mini boats, which each host groups of up to eight friends seated at a social distance.
Organisers promise a mixture of golden oldie movies and new releases, however, the program and event location remains under wraps.
There will be free popcorn, as well as other movie snacks and drinks to purchase before setting sail.
The organiser is listed as Beyond Cinema, a company that describes itself as providing “immersive” movie experiences.
Last year, BBQ Buoys joined forces with the American Express Openair Cinema to offer a 90-minute cruise along the Adelaide Riverbank before patrons settled down for a movie. The cinema will run November 4-8.
