A man has launched a filthy tirade at court officials after hearing he would need to stay behind bars for another two weeks to sort out his legal representation.

Darren Adrian Milera, 50, appeared by video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday and became angry when a magistrate told him his matter would need to be adjourned.

Self represented, Milera said a lawyer had seen him while he had been in custody but could not remember their name.

Magistrate Kym Millard told Milera no lawyer had turned up for him and he would need to adjourn the matter for two weeks.

Milera then launch into an expletive-laden spray.

“Two weeks? why not make it f***ing two years mate,” Milera screamed.

“F*** you, you white c***.”

The video link was quickly disconnected.

Milera, of Adelaide, is facing multiple charges, including assault, refusing name and address and disorderly behaviour.

The offences allegedly occurred in Adelaide on December 26, last year and Milera has been in custody since then.

He is yet to enter any pleas.

The court heard Milera was previously denied bail by Magistrate Jayne Basheer on December 28, last year as his charge of assaulting police meant he was a prescribed applicant.

A prescribed applicant is not eligible for police bail and will only be released if the court finds special circumstances.

Mr Millard later asked duty lawyer Christina Chrisakas if she knew what was happening with Milera’s charges as she appeared for him on the last occasion.

“I couldn’t get a word in edgewise,” Mr Millard said.

“But he was not amused by the fact that there was no appearance by a lawyer on his behalf ... and I could not advance the matter so I put it off for two weeks.”

Ms Chrisakas, who had only acted for him as a duty lawyer in his bail application, said she would look into it to see if he was still in their system.

Milera’s charges were adjourned until January 20.
