Adelaide Oval featured in Australia Post stamp series
After failing to make the cut last year, Australia Post is finally recognising Adelaide Oval with a new stamp.

Adelaide Oval has finally been given the stamp of approval from Australia Post.
The postal service today launched its second series of stamps celebrating iconic sporting stadiums, with the War Memorial Drive oval getting a guernsey after failing to make the cut in 2019.
Other sporting stadiums to be included are Rod Laver Arena in Victoria, Anna Meares Velodrome in Queensland and Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in New South Wales.
Australia Post philatelic manager Michael Zsolt said the venues featured make a “bold architectural statement” with cultural significance.
“These stadiums are not only impressive landmarks for their respective shares, but they are an important part of Australia’s rich sporting culture,” Mr Zsolt said.
Australia Post came under fire last year for not including Adelaide Oval in its first series, with only Sydney Cricket Ground, Melbourne Cricket Ground, AAMI Park and Perth’s Optus Stadium featured.

A Stadium Management Authority spokeswoman said: “We are pleased to see the iconic Adelaide Oval featured in a two-part series of stamps celebrating some of Australia’s most recognised venues. It’s a venue known and loved all over the world.”
It comes as the AFL postponed the 2020 football season in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Adelaide Oval also suspended stadium tours, its education program and RoofClub for the “foreseeable future”
