Break-in spree in western suburbs leads to call for public assistance
There have been three break-ins in the western suburbs, within a few days of each other, and an attempted hotel robbery.

A man is being sought over recent western suburbs break-ins and police are asking for assistance with a Mile End hotel robbery.
BREAK-INS
Western District police are seeking information from the public following a series of three break-ins in the western suburbs in the last two weeks.
Just after 11pm on Friday August 28, a man used a jemmy bar and screwdriver to force entry into a medical centre on Addison Road at Pennington, causing about $500 damage.
Just before midnight on Sunday August 30, a man used a jemmy bar to force entry into a restaurant on Moseley Street, Glenelg, where he stole a small an amount of cash.
Then just before midnight on Tuesday September 1, the same man used a jemmy bar to force entry into a cafe on Brebner Drive at West Lakes, once again stealing cash.
Detectives investigating the break-ins believe the same person is responsible for all three break-ins, with CCTV images showing the suspect as a man of caucasian appearance, with a solid build, wearing a baseball and a bandana or clothing covering his face and carrying a jemmy bar.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
Police are seeking the assistance of the public to help identify a man wanted over an attempted robbery at Mile End last month.
About 10.30pm on Friday August 28, the man walked behind the bar area of a Mile End hotel and attempted to steal cash from the till.
A staff member closed the till on the suspect’s hands and a scuffle ensued.
There were no injuries to staff.
Despite extensive inquiries, Western District CIB detectives have been unable to identify the man.
