After a tumultuous 2020, many people are looking for a tree change and purchasing, or investing in the Barossa, with agents saying the market is booming.
Robyn Stanbury from Elders Real Estate Barossa has worked in the industry for 22 years and says that the post-COVID-19 boom is unlike anything she’s ever seen.
“It’s just huge, all the agents haven’t got enough properties to sell, I put that to a bit of panic due to last year,” she said.
“Even the rental market in the Barossa is huge, there just isn’t enough rental properties for people to live in right now.”
“House sellers are getting an extra 40 per cent to what they would have gotten two years ago.
“Tanunda is probably the top end of town and then it plateaus out between Angaston and Nuriootpa.”
Recent realestate.com.au figures show the Barossa Council area’s median house sale price climbed to $361,000.
But already in 2021 there have been some massive sales.

It sold on January 22 for $710,000.

This picturesque Angaston home boasts a refitted and modernised interior and sold on March 31 for $819,000.
4 Elizabeth St, Tanunda
Built in 1927, this large bungalow sold on January 29 for $820,000.
20 Elizabeth St, Tanunda
Sold through Homburg Real Estate, this large, 1925, four-bedroom home sold on March 3 for a cool $895,000.
7 Meshach Burge Tce, Lyndoch
Described as ‘the architectural entertainer’ while on sale, this property sold on April 13 for $1m.
It features an expansive paved outdoor entertaining area under a vine covered canopy, complete with its own wood fired pizza oven.
235 Gawler Park Rd, Angaston
Rich in history dating back to some of the Barossas earliest settlers, 235 Gawler Park Rd, Angaston was described as a once in a lifetime property and boasted nine large rooms as well as significant acreage.
The property sold on January 12 for $1.285m.
191 Samuel Rd, Nuriootpa
This beautiful homestead boasted unlimited commercial prospects and a large 42 acre block when it sold on April 8 for $1.3m.

It was sold on 15 January for a massive $2.2m.
