‘The market is huge’: Some of the most expensive homes sold in the Barossa in 2021

Buyers are snapping up anything they can in the Barossa after a tumultuous 2020, looking for a tree change. See the hottest properties that changed hands this year.

How to buy your first home

After a tumultuous 2020, many people are looking for a tree change and purchasing, or investing in the Barossa, with agents saying the market is booming.

Robyn Stanbury from Elders Real Estate Barossa has worked in the industry for 22 years and says that the post-COVID-19 boom is unlike anything she’s ever seen.

“It’s just huge, all the agents haven’t got enough properties to sell, I put that to a bit of panic due to last year,” she said.

“Even the rental market in the Barossa is huge, there just isn’t enough rental properties for people to live in right now.”

“House sellers are getting an extra 40 per cent to what they would have gotten two years ago.

“Tanunda is probably the top end of town and then it plateaus out between Angaston and Nuriootpa.”

Recent realestate.com.au figures show the Barossa Council area’s median house sale price climbed to $361,000.

But already in 2021 there have been some massive sales.

We’ve compiled a the top properties sold, with more dream homes expected to change hands as the year rolls on.
