With a wide variety of fashions on display, the 2022 Gawler Cup has been heralded a success by attendees and officials alike. Check if you were among the thousands snapped at the event.

The 2022 Holdfast Insurance Brokers Gawler Cup was held yesterday with hundreds flocking in for the cup’s first full scale event in years.

Boasting a total prize pool of $45,000, the 1500m race was taken out by Bold Star, rode by jockey Lachlan Neindorf.

Deputy chairman of Country Racing South Australia Ian Millen was pleased with the turnout for the event.

“It’s been an excellent day, we’ve had covid for two years, one year we didn’t run and the other we had restricted numbers,” Mr Millen said.

“People are just coming back and we’re booked out in all hospitality areas, it’s a great event for the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club.”
