Child sexual charges dropped against Barossa man Peter James Darling

Prosecutors have dropped a series of child sexual charges laid against a Barossa man, who has been behind bars on remand since August last year. 

Prosecutors have withdrawn all serious child sexual charges against a Nuriootpa man.

On August 8, prosecutors entered a Nolle Prosequi against Peter James Darling, 52,

A nolle prosequi means prosecutors have withdrawn the charges against a defendant.

Mr Darling was previously set to stand trial next year charged with a number of basic and aggravated offences of child sexual abuse charges including attempting to use a child in a commercial sexual services and communicating with intent of making a child amenable.

In court documents released to The Advertiser, police had alleged the offending took place at various times between March 15 and September 6, 2022.
