A new $25m luxury resort, with 80 rooms, restaurant, infinity pool and day spa, is planned for a site in Lyndoch.

KPHR Investments Pty Ltd has lodged plans for ‘Nexus Barossa’, a single storey accommodation centre constructed in a ring layout at 221 Yaldara Drive, Lyndoch.

The site is currently home to Barossa Pavilions, six self-contained villas approved in 2004 and plotted for privacy around the 75 acre property and the multi-award winning Barossa Glasshouse, designed by Max Pritchard in 2010 and available to hire for $1500 a night.

The new development will expand on the site’s current accommodation options.

A report on the development, tabled with the Barossa Council and state government, said the new resort would “continue the architectural theme established by the ‘Glasshouse’ building”.

“The proposed built form will exhibit a low rise single-storey design, with a skillion roof form primarily following the contours of the land,” the report said.

“The development will satisfy the growing demand for a new luxury tourist accommodation offering in the region.”

The new development would include a lobby building, with 75-seat function room, 90-seat restaurant, cocktail lounge, gym, 80-seat conference room, infinity pool and day spa with three treatment rooms.

A total of 104 carparking spaces have been allocated to the resort.

Four trees would need to be removed for the development.

The project is currently on public notification until August 23, seeking planning consent.
