The Barossa, Light & Gawler Netball Association may play in 2020 after all, with the competition looking at summer play.
The BLGNA cancelled this year’s campaign among the COVID-19 pandemic, while the football competition continued on.
Association president Katrina Frederick said there are some hurdles they will have to overcome to have a crack at summer.
“We are looking at it,” she said.
“A lot of our courts aren’t really available as they become tennis courts in the summer.
“That makes it difficult, but we are discussing and are putting it out to clubs about maybe some mini-carnival.
“We’d want to make sure we’d have the numbers.”
Ms Frederick said there’s nothing set in stone for now, and clubs are looking at player retention.
“I do think there were some people upset, and that was to be expected I think,” she said.
“A lot of clubs are working hard with player retention and some are doing some specialised training, some are looking at summer to keep their players together.”
It is uncertain how many BLGNA players moved into neighbouring competitions, but Ms Frederick is confident on gaining those players who have left back.
“We’re hoping the ones who may have gone to another association might come back, I think we have a pretty strong competition and I hope if they have gone, they’ll return back to their clubs,” she said.
