Adelaide police chase ends in ocean off Beach Road at Grange as separate crimes spark pursuits

SA Police have had a busy night across Adelaide, with multiple incidents turning into pursuits – with one in particular making a big splash.

South Australia to send officers to Alice Springs to assist Northern Territory Police

A 28-year-old driver has been arrested after a wild high-speed chase ended in the ocean early this morning.

Police spotted a Ford Falcon driving erratically on Beach Road in Grange just after 1.20am, before the vehicle sped off on the wrong side of the road.

Officers then tried to pull the car over on Seaview Road but it didn’t stop, later hitting speeds of 100km/h on Military Road.

The Ford then crashed into kerb, with the driver running onto the beach and swimming into the ocean to avoid police.

Police water operations were then called in to rescue the man after he started to struggle.

He was quickly arrested and charged with a range of offences, before being taken to hospital for minor injuries.

His vehicle was impounded and he was bailed to face court at a later date.

He confronted the occupants before running back out and climbing on to the roof of the house at around 10pm.

No one was injured and the man climbed down a short time later. He was then arrested.
