Red, black, Holden or Pontiac, two-door or Commodore, trike or superbike – no matter what classic you hanker for, you can find it in The Advertiser’s huge registry of vehicles taking part in the 40th Bay to Birdwood rally.

For the first time, Advertiser.com.au and organisers have created an online interactive registry of all 1681 entrants in the September 27 rally.

With this online tool, you can search for your favourite marque, model, year, body style or even owner.

Morris fans may discover the 1939 tourer bought new in that year by Jim Davies’ grandmother-in-law.

“It made its first SA outing in the Bay to Birdwood eight years ago, and it will be good to have it running around again this year and to give people a look,” Mr Davies, 69, of Belair, said of his pride and joy.

COVID restrictions will make changes to the hugely popular event in its 40th year. The start and finish lines – usually teeming with up to 95,000 spectators – will be limited to just car occupants and event officials.

Roadside spectating along the 72km route will be allowed.

For those who can’t make it, The Advertiser will live stream the rally for the first time from 8.30am at Advertiser.com.au
