The fires will be roaring and wine will be pouring at one of the Adelaide Hills’ most anticipated winter events.
Around 19,000 food and wine lovers are expected to flock to 20 venues this weekend for the annual Winter Reds.
Adelaide Hills Wine Region Executive Officer, Kerry Treuel said the event was the first major three-day gathering to be rolled out post COVID-19 restrictions.
“The past six months have been challenging to say the least for wine companies in the Adelaide Hills,” she said.
“Many were devastated by the January bush fires and then COVID 19 hit, meaning cellar doors and other hospitality venues were forced to close.
“So this year’s Winter Reds weekend is all about welcoming visitors back to the Adelaide Hills.”
With some COVID restrictions still in place, Ms Treuel urged festival goers to plan ahead.
“Where possible we are encouraging everyone to plan their Winter Reds weekend in advance – check out the website and book into your favourite venue,” she said.
“This will go a long way in helping our venues manage capacity while still ensuring attendees are well looked after.”
