An armed robber has had the shock of his life after his victim ran from the scene – but not before doing one critical thing that left the thief in big trouble.

An armed robber has had a rude shock after his victim ran from the scene and locked him inside before calling police.
Just after midnight on Sunday, police were called to a service station on Beach Rd at Christies Beach following reports of a robbery.
Police arrived within minutes and found the man locked inside the service station.
Police allege the man was armed with a knife when he entered the premises and demanded cash.
The attendant ran from the scene and locked the man inside before calling police.
The 34-year-old Aldinga Beach man was then arrested and disarmed without incident.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday.
Pair arrested over stolen car
A man and woman have been arrested after allegedly abandoning a stolen car at Torrensville.
Police spotted a green Holden Commodore sedan on West Tce, just after 8pm, which was reported stolen from the CBD on Thursday.
Police followed the car before attempting to stop it on James Congdon Drive.
The car sped off and they lost sight of it on Railway Tce.
PolAir were called in to assist and spotted it on North Pde at Torrensville before observing it being abandoned in Chatswood Grove.
Police patrols swarmed the surrounding area and located the 29-year-old Woodville South man and 33-year-old Albert Park man nearby.
They were arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and failing to truly answer.
They were both granted bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in July.
