YAAAAAAS, QUEEN!
Dictionary.com — the poor man’s Merriam-Webster — is keeping up with the kids, adding a squad of slang words in their latest dictionary update, released Tuesday.
Here, our five favourite new entries:
DOGE
A meme-famous Shiba Inu, regularly posed next to hilarious imagined thoughts in a rainbow Comic Sans font.
EGOT
The honour of scoring an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony win. As made famous by Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock.
FLEEK
“Flawlessly styled, groomed, etc,” according to the Dictionary.com entry. You can thank Vine star Peaches Monroee for this gem of a word (please note that video has some graphic language).
SHOOTIE
The fashion word we didn’t know we needed: It describes a shoe that extends just above the ankle.
YAAAS
An overly excited way to say “Yes!” The best example: this iconic scene in Broad City:
