As toilet paper supplies have been stripped bare from supermarket shelves once again, one shopper has taken it upon herself to wipe out a pallet of the highly sought-after item in an act that has been labelled “pathetic” online.
The female shopper was filmed standing in an empty aisle of an unknown Woolworths supermarket, as a huge delivery of Quilton toilet paper sits at the end waiting to be unpacked.
She then takes a run-up, launching herself onto the stack of toilet paper, sending packets flying and leaving others destroyed.
The controversial clip was shared on TikTok where it was quickly criticised, pointing out toilet paper “is like gold in Sydney” because of the current two-week lockdown in parts of NSW.

One shopper branded the stunt “pathetic” as another asked: “Do you feel cool now?”
According to reports, the girl was seen “dancing and smiling” after the stunt, leading some to rage in the group that she should be “thrown out” of the supermarket.
A spokesperson for Woolworths said it was investigating the incident.
“We’ve been made aware of a video on social media which appears to be in one of our stores. We’re currently looking into the circumstances surrounding it.”
Supermarkets set limits on toilet paper
On Monday, Woolworths introduced limits on toilet paper, restricting customers to just two packets per person in all Greater Sydney supermarkets in response to the “primordial urge” of some shoppers to stockpile the item.
Coles has already introduced a limit of two packets per customer in all NSW stores.
In an email sent to customers, Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci said that while Woolworths had “plenty of stock of most essential items” it had been forced to put a limit on one in-demand item.
“Frustratingly, we currently have a two-pack per shop limit on toilet paper after we’ve seen surge buying leading to some shortages in store and online,” he said.
“It seems the almost primordial urge to pantry stock toilet paper is still symbolic of these times. We expect to be back in full stock in the next few days and as previously, we’d ask you to only buy what you need.”
