Just days after Catherine, Princess of Wales opened up about her cancer treatment, she and Prince William have come forward with another message for the public.

The statement, issued by Kensington Palace on Will and Kate’s behalf, thanks the future King and Queen’s supporters for their well-wishes and understanding, given the trying circumstances.

"The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness' message,” reads the statement.

“They are extremely moved by the public's warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time."

This joint statement echoes similar sentiments shared by Kate in her video from Friday evening, seeking privacy and peace while the family battles this illness and the Princess recovers.

The princess’ first statement came after months of speculation about her whereabouts and wellbeing, after she disappeared from public sight following a “planned abdominal surgery.”

The rumours hit a fever pitch on March 11, after photo agencies in London recalled an image shared by Kensington Palace, depicting a digitally altered Kate and her children.

The two-minute video began with Kate thanking her supporters for their concern, before revealing that while the abdominal surgery was considered successful, the presence of cancerous cells were later detected.

“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits,” she said. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”

The Princess is now undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy.

Since Kate’s announcement, the Royal family have rallied in support.

King Charles, via a statement issued by Buckingham Palace, is reportedly 'so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did'.
“Following their time in hospital together, HM has 'remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.'

“Both Their Majesties (Charles and Queen Camilla) 'will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time'."

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, also shared a brief statement of support for Kate, wishing her well during the trying time.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
