Heading to a McDonald’s restaurant for a birthday party was a rite of passage for most Aussie kids of the 90s and 2000s.
Little kids were thrilled to head to the Golden Arches with their best mates for the nuggets, Happy Meal toys, ice cream cake and iconic back tour of the kitchen.
It was a time when families didn't think twice about germ-filled play equipment and a giant spread of French fries being shared among multiple dirty fingers without a care in the world.

McDonald's birthday parties are making a comeback
While some might have thought the beloved party tradition was gone forever Down Under, it’s simply been put on hold, like many good things, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A recent Facebook post revealed McDonald’s birthday parties had returned in-store - not in Australia - but overseas.
They include Happy Meals, games and entertainment for all guests - all at an affordable price, which is the number one priority these days for cash-strapped families.

For any Maccas fans out there, you'll be pleased to know McDonald’s kids parties haven't disappeared forever, they will be making a comeback.
“Macca’s birthday parties were paused during the pandemic, and we’re reviewing when and how we’ll bring them back,” a McDonald’s Australia spokeswoman told Kidspot in a statement.
“In the meantime, families are always welcome to visit our restaurants and enjoy a Macca’s moment together, such as for a birthday or team celebration.
“We do recommend you phone ahead to your local restaurant, so we’re ready to accommodate larger groups.”
