Jarrad Anderson knows better than most how to throw an epic Super Bowl party.

The lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan has played the sport for 20 years and in 2012, was in the US for American Football’s showpiece game.

“It’s incredible, there’s nothing quite like it. It’s the equivalent of the Melbourne Cup... the whole city, the whole country stops for the Super Bowl,” said Mr Anderson, manager at SkyCity Adelaide venue, The District.

“And it’s all about the atmosphere - the people, the food, the booze, the sounds.

“That’s what American sports are, it’s an event. You’re not just watching a game. It’s all part of the spectacle. It truly brings people together in a country that is sometimes divided.”

Mr Anderson will be looking to bring the same vibe to The District’s massive NFL Super Bowl party tomorrow morning from 9.30am, as Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Florida.

The new dual-level venue will have Florida-themed food including southern fried turkey wings, chilli dogs, gator balls and mini Cuban sandwiches, plus a special Superbowl beer called ‘The Lombardi’.

Cheerleaders will provide live half-time entertainment, and there’s also a free after-party featuring a Foo Fighters tribute act.

“The Super Bowl events around the city are definitely getting bigger, instead of just going to your local pub where you might get it on the screen, as the fanbase has grown, venues have been making it a real event,” said Mr Anderson, who’s expecting up to 400 people to cram into The District’s Brewery and Sports areas.
