Sydney roads are notoriously pretty chaotic.
There are all sorts of signs telling you what to do and what not to do - but for some reason when you’re in a moving vehicle, they all seem to blur into one. There’s a reason why I’ve lived here my whole life and still refuse to drive in the city.
If it’s that bad for locals, you can only imagine how tricky it would be to navigate for tourists, with one woman going viral on TikTok showing just that.

"Man the roads are difficult to navigate"
A Perth woman on TikTok as @libbymorph has taken to the app sharing a video showing some pretty confusing signs on a Sydney road.
In the video, captioned, ‘Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world... but man the roads are difficult to navigate’, she spotlights three different signs which seem to indicate that she can go, well, nowhere.
“That is saying, ‘no left turn’, ‘no right turn’, and ‘no entry’ straight!” she says.
“That’s the best. Where are we going to go?”
Speaking to Kidspot, Libby clarified that she was actually in an Uber at 11pm at night - only adding to the confusion.
Ultimately, they opted to follow the cars ahead and turn right, which leads them into bumper to bumper traffic - classic Sydney.
"So confusing and overwhelming"
Commenters on the video thought it was all too relatable.
“Quickly choose....A $1000 fine awaits ..” one person said.
“this is EXACTLY why i do NOT drive in the cities. WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT,” said another.
“Sydney roads and tolls [are] not for beginners. I used to have anxiety going to [the] city [and] tolls when I started driving here. but u get the hang of it,” another commenter said.
“My housemate had a menty b at this exact intersection. We’re from Melbourne, so confusing and overwhelming,” said a fourth person.
“They really need to make the signs bigger to read in this situation,” said another.

"It's simple!"
But, others said it made perfect sense, making note of the signs underneath referring to bikes only.
“No left for cars, no right for bikes, no straight for cars. You must turn right. The signs are confusing though it should just say all cars must turn right,” said one commenter.
“no right turn from bicycle path. if you're not coming from bicycle path, then you're good to go,” said another.
“Bicycles can go left and straight, cars can only go right, it’s simple,” a third person agreed.
I’d want the bicycle signs to be a little clearer, but that’s just me…
