Alexandrina Council Monorail

A new mode of transportation – a monorail – was reportedly being introduced to connect the SA coastal towns of Goolwa, Middleton and Port Elliot.

“Combining transportation, revenue generation, sustainability and more importantly coolness all into one the new Monorail will see the first passengers travelling this time next year,” the council’s social media post declared.

In a ‘frequently asked questions’ section on the post, the council addressed several queries, including “why a monorail?”.

“One rail is cheaper than two, so it is a cost-saving measure, practically making money,” the answer read.

SA’s agriculture minister Leon Bignell was also getting in on big ideas south of the city, pushing to get ahead of Norwood’s desire to field the AFL’s 20th team.

Adelaide 36ers’ boom recruit

Six months after beating NBA team the Phoenix Suns, the Sixers announced they’d signed superstar guard Devin Booker.

“If you can’t beat them, join them,” Booker is quoted as saying.

“I saw their shooting first hand, and thought I’d be quite the April fool if I missed out on the opportunity to join them.”

The volunteer organisation excitedly announced that Crocs were being added to their uniforms for staff on the job.

“When worn with the Day Dress Uniform, Crocs must be worn with the appropriate epaulettes, socks or stockings. Badges are optional but highly encouraged,” said a post on their social media account.

Move over Daniel Craig, former One Direction hunk Harry Styles is apparently taking over as movie character James Bond, according to Wallis Cinemas.

“The new #JamesBond has finally been revealed: #HarryStyles will be suiting up and learning to love his martinis shaken not stirred,” a post on their social media declared.

Royal Caribbean International unveiled a new Australian-only “Quantum Class” ship called Crikey of the Seas, with features including a cricket field, BBQs on the balcony suites, and cocktails including Vegemite mojitos, lamington mudslides, fairy bread margaritas and a pavlova spritz.

The beloved ice cream brand announced their Giant Twins ice cream was getting a new flavour: Sweet Spiced Gherkins.

“When you bite in, you’ll experience a tangy and pickled flavour explosion, teamed perfectly with Giant Twins’ signature choc coating,” their social media post said.

“Hurry, this is a limited release only and when stocks are gone, they’re gone!”

Renaming The Highway

The popular pub on the corner of Anzac Highway and Marion Road revealed they were changing names.

“The locals have spoken, and we have listened! After years of giving Anzac Highway all the promotion and being called “The Highway”, it’s time for Marion Road to have a go,” their post said.

“For the foreseeable future, we’ll now be known as “The Road”.”

No longer just a doughnut store, Krispy Kreme unveiled an ambitious plan to open a series of fine dining restaurants across the state, combining their delicious pastries with high-end ingredients such as lobster, caviar and Wagyu beef.

“Culinary perfection meets Krispy Kreme confection,” their post said.

FruChocs share packs

The South Aussie confectionary company declared they were making sharing fruchocs easier thanks to a new packet design.

“We all know how difficult it is sharing your FruChocs with someone, even those you love, so we’ve tried to make it at least a little bit easier for you by introducing these unique share packs,” their social media post said.

“Do you like someone enough to go halvsies? Or maybe you like them, but not THAT much?”
