Veteran Crow Brodie Smith announces engagement to Lisa McCarthy
Love is in the air for the Adelaide Crows, with a club stalwart revealing his engagement just days after skipper Jordan Dawson’s magical Barossa wedding.

It’s been the off-season of love for the Adelaide Crows, with veteran defender Brodie Smith announcing his engagement to girlfriend Lisa McCarthy just days after captain Jordan Dawson tied the knot.
The couple took to Instagram to share the news on Sunday night, with Ms McCarthy sharing a beachside shot of her impressive rock.
“You bring me endless happiness, joy, care, empathy and love,” she wrote.
“I will forever be yours.”
The couple was flooded with well-wishes from teammates and friends, with former Crows AFLW captain Chelsea Randall, her fiancee and former Crow Marijana Rajcic, Geelong goal kicking powerhouse Tom Hawkins, Ellie Walker and Dawson extending their congratulations.
Smith — who has clocked up 247 games for the Crows — is currently filling in for Rajcic as the club’s AFLW defensive coach while she is on maternity leave.
The post also earned a love heart emoji from Smith’s long-time teammate Rory Laird — a sure shoe-in for best man duties.
Smith and Ms McCarthy were among the star-studded attendees of Dawson’s Barossa nuptials last week, where the skipper wed childhood sweetheart Milly Dutton flanked by Crows and Swans players.
Spirits were high as players danced, sung and the newly-married Crows star was chaired on the shoulders of his captaincy predecessor Sloane, while Milly was hoisted in the air by Sydney’s Luke Parker.
Other Crows stars in attendance included Taylor Walker, Darcy Fogarty, Ben Keays, Reilly O’Brien, Lachlan Murphy, Mitch Hinge and Ned McHenry.
Dawson proposed late in 2022 and popped the question to Milly under a tall Willow Tree in front of her grandmother’s home in England.
The duo, from the state’s South-East, shared their first kiss on a Robe footy oval and have said they haven’t gone a day without speaking to each other since meeting in Year 7.
